This 8 day combined cycling and sailing holiday in the Ionian sea will introduce you to the magic of western Greece both by land and by sea. As a cycling vacation, you'll experience the Greek islands of the Ionian, their pristine natural beauty, crystal clear waters, and their Venetian influenced architecture. Out at sea, your sailing holiday will take you to Corfu, Ithaca the home of Odysseus, Lefkada, the mountainous Cephalonia and to the tiny islands of Meganisi, Mitikas and Paxos.
Twisty mountain roads, waterfalls, caves, charming towns and harbors, as well as world famous beaches are all within pedaling distance. This combined holiday requires an advanced fitness level as daily cycling route distances range from 20 - 50 km. Most of the roads are asphalted and rarely used, while they pass by hilly or mountainous areas, at an altitude of 300-700m.
When not biking, you'll be Ionian sailing in a twin masted motor yacht 102 ft long that features 10 cabins, a dining room and a spacious sun deck. The onboard cook will be preparing breakfast and one or two meals a day, while there is also ample time to try out Greek cuisine in local taverns. All cabins are air-conditioned and equipped with a double bed and single bed. Each of the ship's cabins also have a private shower and toilet.
There is room for all guests in the spacious dining area to have their meals, relax and spend some time with new friends. Guests can also have their meals outside on the shaded rear deck. A spacious sun deck is also equipped with cozy mats, invites to have a sun bath and to relax.

(Sun) Corfu Island - Sivota - Parga - Lefkas Island (approx. 28 km/17 mi. by bicycle)
In the morning we will crossover to Sivota. There our first cycle tour starts and leads us to Parga, the only centre of tourism on the western coast of the Greek mainland. Parga is a pretty town with the medieval fort which towers over the old town. Here the boat is awaiting us to take us to Nidri on Lekas Island. On our way we pass the original swing-bridge which connects Lefkas with the Greek mainland.
(Mon) Islands of Lefkas and Cephalonia (approx. 25 km/14 mi. by bicycle)
Todays cycle route takes us from Nidri first to nearby waterfalls. If you are lucky they carry still enough water for a refreshing morning swim. Along quiet roads through the mountains past Sivros we cycle later to the harbour in Vasiliki. After a short sail we anchor at Porto Katsiki, one of the most famous beaches in Greece, for swimming. Then the ship brings us to Fiskardo on Cephalonia, where we spend the night. The harbour town on the Northern point of the island charms visitors with its colorful houses and numerous cafés and bars along the picturesque harbor promenade.
(Tue) Island of Cephalonia (approx. 39 km / 24 mi. by bicycle)
Today’s bike tour leads us from Fiskardo to Sami. We cycle along the high road of the western coast of the island, where we have many unforgettable views, like the panoramic view down to Myrtos beach. We continue on through the interior of the island and finally reach the eastern coast of Cephalonia with the harbour of Sami. On the way we may visit the stalactite and stalagmite caves of Melissani, which can only be viewed in rowing boats. In the late afternoon we cruise to Vathy on the island of Ithaca.
(Wed) Islands of Ithaca and Meganisi (approx. 21 + 13 km / 13 + 8 mi. by bicycle)
Ithaca, the homeland of the mythical king Odysseus is a hilly island with a beautiful landscape. On today’s cycle route we can enjoy the typical character of the Ionian Islands away from the beaten tourist track: gnarled olive trees, crystal clear water and friendly islanders – time appears to stand still on Ithaca. From Frikes the Panagiota takes us to the small island of Meganisi. On the way we pass the privat island of the influential ship-owner Aristoteles Onassis. Meganisi is a tiny island with lots of charm, which we will explore in the afternoon in no time by bicycle.
(Thu) Mytikas - Lefkas town (approx. 49 km / 30 mi. by bicycle)
In the morning we cross over to Mytikas on the Greek mainland. From Mytikas we ride along the coast and further on panoramic roads, passing some mountain villages until we reach Lefkas town. In the afternoon we sail to Paxos island, whose unique natural harbor in Gaios creates a special island atmosphere. We can spend the evening in a cozy tavern in Gaios.
(Fri) Island of Paxos - Corfu town (approx. 23 km / 14 mi. by bicycle)
Paxos, the smallest of the seven Ionian Islands is a grove of olive trees, which gives the island its wonderful silver green color. On today’s cycle trip we circle the island. We can have our last swim in the Mediterranean on one of the many beaches. After lunch the boat brings us back to Corfu town, and after dinner on board our last evening takes place traditionally in a cosy atmosphere with crew and tour guides.
(Sat) Disembarkationat Corfu town

Extend Your Stay
Extend your Holiday on Corfu!
Would you like to be in the vicinity before your biking and cruising tour in the Ionian Islands begins or to spend a few more relaxed days afterwards on the island of Corfu?
Corfu is the largest island in the Ionian archipel and its diverse landscape, countless beaches, turquiose-coloured sea and many sightseeing attractions are impressive. The beautiful landscape in the north of the island, with its coast of sandstone cliffs at Sidari, attracts tourists like a magnet.
Corfu’s capital – also named Corfu – is considered one of the most beautiful towns in all of Greece. To stroll through the lively lanes of the historical centre with its Venetian flair, where countless small shops offer a colourful profusion of wares, is a true holiday highpoint. Also impressive are the New and Old Fortress, just as photogenic as the monastery island of Vlacherna- connected by a dam to the main island – and nearby Mouse Island (Pontikonissi).
Austria’s great empress Sissi already described Corfu as the island of her dreams when she came there to improve her delicate health. In 1890 – 1892, she had an extraordinary palace built 7 km south of Corfu Town, calling it Achilleion, after Achilles, the legendary Homeric hero. It is today one of the main tourist attractions.
So it is certainly always worthwhile to extend your holiday on Corfu: No matter whether you are interested in culture, love hiking or exploring the island by car, or simply want to relax on the beach. Corfu has something for everybody.
In the following, we recommend some hotels that can be booked through us.
