- 30/8-13/9 One way flotilla Corfu to Lefkas with Peter and Marjan
- 13/9-End of season Week flotilla Lefkas with Peter and Marjan
To sail the whole area you need at least 2 weeks. The lead crew will make sure the route suits all participants of the flotilla. They will take into account which harbour are already visited, the weatherforecast, sailing experience, other flotilla’s etc.
The daily distances are not too long (about 10 till 15 Nautical miles a day). With an avarage of 4 to 5 knots this means there is time enough to anchor in a beautifull bay underway, to swim, sunbathe, read, or to be in the next port early to have time for a stroll land inwards.
Who wants to sail more can always take the long route. There is enough to see and explore in this beautiful cruising area. Ask the lead crew for tips.
An example of a 2 different 1-week routes could be:
- Day 1: embark in Gouvia Marina
- Day 2: Petriti
- Day 3: Gaios
- Day 4: Mongonissi
- Day 5: Mourtos
- Day 6: Sayiadha
- Day 7: Gouvia Marina or Ag. Stefanos
- Day 8: Change over day - Agni
- Day 9: Platarias
- Day 10: Zavia bay
- Day 11: Parga
- Day 12: Lakka
- Day 13: Kalamas (BBQ)
- Day 14: Gouvia Marina
The advantage of the 2 week family flotilla's is that we don't need to go back to the marina because the same group will be for 2 weeks together, so the route is more relaxed and children don't have to say goodbye to their new friends already after 1 week

How to get to Corfu?
There are several ways to travel to Corfu. With own transport (car) and ferry, train or flying. It is best to book your flight yourself.
The first day
The yachts are moored up at dock B in Gouvia Marina. The first day everybody arrives at different times. The crew is busy cleaning and technically checking the boats. People who arrive early can enjoy the facilities of the marina. There are different bars, restaurants, swimming pool etc. Or go shopping. Around 15.00 hour, when everything is ready the new guests may embark.
Once on board you first check the inventory. To know exactly where everything is and find convenient storage space for your own stuff. From 18:00 hours, the flotilla crew will come along for the check-in. They will explain the yacht, ask if you found everything, etc.
The next morning at 10.00 o’clock is the first group briefing. Here we pay always extra attention to maneuvering and anchoring the way they do that in Greece. After the briefing, you are free to sail.
What should I bring?
Not to much. In summer you live in your swimwear. Sunhat, sunglasses, thin clothing to protect for the sun (daytime) or mosquitoes (evening), sandals and your walking shoes if you like hiking. Musical instruments are always welcome at the BBQ campfire :-)
The ships are fully equipped. Do not take with you large hard suitcases and shoes with black issuing soles.
How is the weather
On and around the Ionian Sea the climate is mild. You could even call it pleasantly subtropical.
Early in the year the sea is pleasantly warm. This remains so until late in the autumn.
Throughout the sailing season, from April to October, outside temperatures of 25 to 30 degrees are to be expected. Only at the beginning and the end of the season you will need a sweater in the evenings.
In the spring and autumn there may be some showers. Lightweight rain gear is recommended. There is usually a quiet Northwest breeze around 4 bft in the afternoons.
Can I combine my holiday & stay longer in Corfu?
If you want to combine the sailing holiday with a few days or a week on Corfu, or a trek on the mainland, we can give you great tips. Below you can find our partnering accommodation on Corfu island. You can book them through us, in combination with a sailing holiday and/or car rental.
Cosy little cottages in a beautiful garden. Good atmosphere. Good base to go for a walk. Very central on the island, about 5 km. from the marina. Yoga en tai chi lessons are regularly organised and also various workshops. Horseriding and beaches nearby.
Agrotourism in the south of Corfu , near the Korisson lake on the westcoast in the middle of nature. There are 2 luxurious villa’s for rent at the biological farm and restaurant Bioporos. You will enjoy the beautiful views of the lake and the sea. This an ideal walking area in the non-touristic part off Corfu.
The friendly owners, Kostas and Agathi love to show you the Greek traditional ways of living off grid. They grow their own vegetables and make their own olive oil. Hold bees, chicken and other farm animals and cook the most fantastic meals every day.
For a visit to the Greek mainland we highly recommend the Zagoria area. Hiking, overwhelming nature and the deepest gorge in the world. Best place to stay is hotel “Porfyron”. Stylish rooms, wonderful food and hospitality from Yannis and Rita. From here you can also make daytrips to Dodoni, Meteora or Ioaninna.
You will have a boat that is easy to navigate. Comfortable. Seaworthy. Easy to handle. With enough space for two, four or even seven people.

You can travel a long distance in the Ionian Sea. You just chart your own course for a couple of weeks. The yacht has all the facilities you need. You can anchor where and when you want. You know that, if necessary, the leader of the flotilla still can advise and assist you
When you are not certain about your sailing experience, or you just love the company of other yachts, you choose to join the flotilla.
Freedom and helpfulness are of paramount importance within the flotilla. There are no obligations to the group. Whoever likes to be sociable is always welcome to join the group meal or group activities.
Because of the help in finding your route and a good mooring for the night also starting sea-sailors will feel relaxed and safe in this flotilla. Also tips where to wine and dine are much appreciated.
