This five day mini cruise through the "Garden of Amsterdam" takes you through the world-famous canals, which recently came onto the UNESCO world heritage list. Excursions on land, guided tours and optional bike excursions (25-50 km) in the towns are included (bicycles are available on board).

The summer and autumn seasons offer you an excellent opportunity to visit the most beautiful high points in and around the capital—Amsterdam—in a relaxed way; on board the 63 meter long MS Magnifique. Bike & barge tours are perfect for family holidays, small or large groups or couples and friends.

Numerous museums and shops await: you’ll have the opportunity to visit the historical city of Haarlem, the open-air museum Zaanse Schans with its wind mills and a cheese farm, the cheese city Alkmaar and the picturesque small town with harbour, Volendam at the Ijsselmeer.

The ship accommodates a max. of 32-39 guests It comprises a beautiful salon with bar and with all meals served in the restaurant area. It has a total of 17 cabins (2x single, 11x twin and 4x premium twin). Both sun decks are particularly attractive with chairs and a small whirlpool from which you can peruse the river landscapes passing by.

This is the complete itinerary of the cruise program from Amsterdam - Haarlem - Zaanse Schans - Alkmaar - Volendam – Amsterdam.

Day 1

Arrival and Embarkation in Amsterdam.

Evening: Travel Amsterdam to Haarlem

Boarding is at 2PM. Enjoy a historic tour around the city of Haarlem.

Day 2

Haarlem to Zaanse Schans

Afternoon: Zaandam to Alkmaar

Optional: bike tour ca. 25 or 40 km (15/24 m)

Enjoy a cruise ship or optional bike tour (ca. 25 km/15 miles) to the open-mills, an old-Dutch village, a cheese farm and a traditional wooden clogs maker. During the afternoon, can also choose between a bike tour and cruise with the ship to Alkmaar. Following dinner, we can relax and take a short stroll around the town.

Day 3

Cruise by ship Alkmaar - Amsterdam - Volendam or Alkmaar - Volendam (ca 35-50 km/21-30 miles)

After breakfast, we travel by ship from Alkmaar through the Polder land of the Province of Northern Holland, and over the IJsselmeer to the fishing village of Volendam. We are free to stroll around town from hereon.

Day 4

Volendam - Amsterdam or Volendam - Amsterdam (ca 35-50 km/21-30 miles)

Our ship will take us over the Ijsselmeer. We also have the option to travel by bike across the beautiful Waterland and then back to Amsterdam. At night, we will have the opportunity to take explore the canals.

Day 5

Amsterdam

After breakfast: disembarkation by 10AM

End of voyage.

OUR SHIP: MS MAGNIFIQUE

The MAGNIFIQUE is 62 meters long and can accommodate approximately 32 to 39 guests. It sails under a Dutch flag and management. It was completely modernized in 2010. During the winter of 2012/2013, the ship was extended to 14 meters with five extra twin cabins and a grander lounge area.

You will find a stylishly furnished salon with restaurant, bar, lounge with large windows, wide screen TV and WLAN on the upper deck of the ship. Two partially covered teak wooden sun decks with chairs and tables & cycle shed are what will greet you on the front deck. A whirlpool or Jacuzzi and barbecue are located on the afterdeck.

The lower deck has seventeen cabins: 11 twins (11m², 2 single beds next to each other), 4 premium twins (14m², 2 single beds next to each other) and 2 single cabins (8 m²). All cabins have portholes fixed for safety and security reasons, en-suite with shower and toilet, individually regulated air conditioning and flat screen TV with SAT-reception. Extra beds are available upon request.

BICYCLES

Bicycles available are mostly unisex touring bicycles of the German brand VSF, with normal mount (ladies model). They have 7 gears, saddles (front or rear) are only available upon request and confirmation. However, we have a limited supply on board. To rent them is also optional. Guests are also allowed to bring their own bicycles or E-bikes (with no extra charge). You just have to be reminded that operators are in no way responsible for any damage, loss or theft of such bicycles. In the Netherlands, law does not require wearing bike helmet. We have helmets on board, free of charge, if you wish to use, but were not able to bring one.
