Day 1: Wednesday - September 17

Cusco (D)

Our journey kicks off in Cusco. Here, we will gather in the afternoon for an “Introductory Meeting” and go through exciting activities ahead of us. A “Welcome Ceremony” will set the mood of pleasure and enthusiasm for what’s planned for us in the next few days. It will also give us a hint of the affluent culture of the Andeans.

Right after the ceremony, we will visit the San Pedro market where we can enjoy picking up fresh produce and experience the authentic elements that make Peru so special.

In the evening, we will again gather together and feast over the sumptuous “Welcome Dinner” of traditional Peruvian cuisine and enjoy the local entertainment.

Overnight in Cusco at the Costa del Sol Picoaga.

Day 2: Thursday - September 18

Cusco City and Incan Sacred Sites (B, L)

Rise up early to experience a private session of meditation. We will jump off to our first target destination following breakfast. We will depart for Sacsayhuamán to explore sightseeing and discovering architectural marvels peppered within the region. The stonewalled complex carries a mysterious and legendary story that will be thrilling to uncover. Thereafter, our Healer will take us through a rebirth process in a neighboring cave of the Cosmic Mother. It is also known as the Womb of Mother Earth.

We will continue with today’s escapade with a visit to Tambomachay. This is regarded as the favorite resting place of the Incas. Locally, it is referred to as the “Baños del Inca” or “Baños de la Ñusta” (English translation: “Baths of the Incas” or “Baths of the Princess”). This amazing site is dedicated to the worship of water. We will also participate in a traditional private Andean Initiation Ceremony to reconnect with ancestral lineages of the locals. Before the ritual ends, we will have a better understanding of the sacred trilogy of the Incas, namely the Puma, Serpent, and Condor. Majority of our day will be filled with tours around sacred temples in the mountain. But, we will have time for a city exploration in Cusco. This is one of the finest opportunities for us to mingle with the fun-loving locals. Later in the day, we will set foot on Coricancha, one of the most important temples built to honor the Sun God. The walls and floors that make up the structure were once covered in abundant layers of solid gold. The courtyard still has golden statues that are just astounding.

Overnight in Cusco at the Costa del Sol Picoaga.

Day 3: Friday - September 19

Chinchero (B, L)

The healer’s homecourt will be our mission for today. His home village Chinchero is tucked high up the plains and presents breathtaking views over the Sacred Valley and snow-capped summits of the Andes. If you are fond of collecting souvenirs, this is the perfect place as the town is famous for their beautiful weaved products. We will take this grand chance to join the unique Despacho Ceremony with our healer and O’ero Master. This tradition honors Pachamama and Apus, and is considered as a powerful healing ceremony that liberates energies we have hoarded over time.

The immersion will not be complete without having to meet the healer’s family. His folks are equally endearing and have their own mystical stories to tell. His mother leads Ayni Ayllu Weaving Cooperative, a foundation that sells high quality goods.

After lunch, we will head to Ollantaytambo train station. This train ride will take us to the most enchanting sceneries of the region including the Urubamaba River, the quaint village of Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu Pueblo. We have the remainder of the day for leisure. We are also encouraged to have a restful sleep and prepare for the epic journey to Machu Picchu tomorrow.

Overnight in Machu Picchu at the Waman Hotel.

Day 4: Saturday - September 20

Machu Picchu (B, L)

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we will embark straight to the highlight of our tour – the Machu Picchu experience.

Machu Picchu is a Cristal Condor sacred site perched in a location of perfection. When you set foot on this magnificent site, your eyes will be a witness to a glorious creation and the cradle of the Incan civilization. What’s more interesting is that it was once used as an observatory for astronomers. Today, it is the crowning glory of Peru’s tourism. Hundreds of thousands of visitors from all corners of the world go here to experience ancient wisdom and reconnect with sacred energies. Its high peaks form a triangle that makes it even more suitable for meditation. We will make the most out of trip to Machu Picchu. We will pay respects to the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Condor, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the spiritual center of the Intihuatana, or the Hitching Post of the Sun. Our hearts and souls will open as we partake in a Pachamama ceremony to recall universal energies. According to travellers and locals alike, this experience is life changing. We will also be given our own time to reflect and explore the stunning site privately. Overnight in Machu Picchu at the Waman Hotel.

Day 5 : Sunday - September 21

Machu Picchu (B, L)

One day in Machu Picchu is never enough! We will once again depart for this monumental site after breakfast. It is an intense place to empower your spirit and allow personal growth to trigger a positive transformation in your life. We can also enjoy an optional hike to Huayna Picchu, the Inka Bridge or the Sungate. In the afternoon, we will board our train to Ollantaytambo in the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Incas. Tomorrow’s Spring Equinox Ceremony is something to look forward to. We’ll get another shot at reconvening with ancient spirits and the heart of Pachamama. Overnight in Ollantaytambo at the Pakaritampu Hotel.

Day 6: Monday - September 22

Ollantaytambo, Pachar Cave (B, L)

We will head to Ollantaytambo right after our breakfast. Known as The Sanctuary of the Wind, it is an ancient observatory and ceremonial center set amongst remarkable hillside terraces. We will visit the Temple of the Sun, and also the Royal Baths and Fountains for a shamanic energy experience where we will connect with the elements of earth, water, air and fire.

Moments of reflection and meditation will be the focus of our tour along the river to the Temple of the Condor. After a sumptuous lunch, we will move to Pachar. This unrivaled and seldom visited sacred Inca Ceremonial Site is home to a sanctified cave and a temple situated in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. To get to this marvel, we will climb some steep terraces. During the ancient times, holy spots and worship centers are not easily accessible and required a great deal of effort to reach. They believed that the sacrifice is part of the offering. Right at this temple is a “stargate” and a portal with strong energy. This expedition will prepare us for the Spring Equinox Despacho offering.

The Spring Equinox is deemed as the perfect time to reflect on life and plant seeds of intentions by way of prayers for a renewal. The Despacho ceremony is the observance of these traditions. It reconnects us with the energy from the natural world. Through a process of cleansing and engaging with our higher self, the ceremony will also encourage us to revisit our personal intentions for our journey and see our purpose with clarity and better perspective. Overnight in Ollantaytambo at the Pakaritampu Hotel.

Day 7: Tuesday - September 23

Pisac, Condor, Cusco (B, L, D)

Yesterday’s experience was truly amazing. Let’s make this day even better. We will immediately leave the hotel after breakfast, and head to the Sacred Valley of the Incas to Pisac, catching sight of the scattering of ancient Incan remnants, reminders of the region’s immense ceremonial importance, as we travel.

The long and narrow valley goes up to Urcos in the southern part and towards the northern part to cross Ollantaytambo before its stretch of broad plains and rugged peaks. Our efforts will be rewarded by inspiring panoramas once we reach the citadel of Machu Picchu.

We will then make our way to the village of Pisac. We will take a quick break from spiritual voyages and this time, we will enjoy local shopping of handicrafts and souvenirs at the Andean Marketplace.

After our lunch, we will head back to Cusco. But, on our way, we will stop by the Ccochahuasi Animal Sanctuary, the place where condors are kept to keep them out of danger. This animal sanctuary will provide us with another transformational encounter through the condors.

As we look back to the experiences, people we have met and the entire journey, we will have a good grasp of what has changed in our life and the decisions we made to eliminate the positive energies, fears and egos from our system. At this point, we have already discovered the healing power thriving in the Andes.

This evening, we will enjoy a celebration Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant.

Overnight in Cusco at the Costa del Sol Picoaga.

Day 8: Wednesday - September 24

Cusco (B)

It’s a bittersweet morning for us. This is the end of the tour, which means we need to say goodbye to our new friends and the place that has been our home for the week. But, the end is the beginning of a new you and a new life filled with wisdom and strength.

We also have the option to continue this amazing journey with an extension trip to Lake Titicaca.

Rise up early because the Tourist Bus will pick us up for another round of trip to the sacred sites of the region. Our first stopover will lead us to Raqchi, also known as the Temple of Wiracocha, the God Creator of the Andes. Here, we will discover the center and point of connection to our divine origins.

We will have our quick lunch. After that, we will visit La Raya, an elevated landmass found 4355 meters above sea level. Dividing Cusco and Puno, it will give us the finest seat in the house for us to be mesmerized by the postcard-perfect views. We will also tour around the Willcamayu River, which is regarded by Incas as reflection of the stars in the Milky Way. Our next destination is Pucara, the most significant site of connection with ancestral lineage for Incans and pre-Incan inhabitants. Petroglyphs found in here uncover the origins of life on earth, as well as the roots of spirituality in the Andes.

If you think that we are done for the day, we still have a number of activities lined up. We will also meet "The Frog God" which bequeaths fertility and prosperity to visitors. We will then continue on to Puno. This is where we will settle into our hotel for the evening. While in here, we can take pleasure in exploring Lake Titicaca. It sits more than 3800 meters above sea level, making it the highest maneuverable lake in the planet. We can also marvel at the man-made floating islands created out of reeds and the hospitality of the locals residing in Uros. Nestling at the heart of the nurturing Andean feminine energy, we will be welcomed by the loving embrace of powerful Mama Cocha. We can have the entire evening for our leisure.

Day 9: Thursday - September 25

Uros Islands, Amantani Island (B, L, D)

We will have a sumptuous breakfast early in the morning. We will need to embark on a private boat trip before sunrise. This is when the waters of Lake Titicaca leading to the Uros Islands are most tranquil.

Legends have it that Uros people existed when the earth was still cold and dark, without the sun. They inhabit the islands of Tortora reeds, which were used as a mobile defense system. Today, it attracts thousands of visitors year in and year out. Complete immersion with the locals will introduce you to their simple ways of life and the beauty of their hearts.

Among the many islands, we will focus on Amantaní, a circular island about 9 square-kilometer in size. Amantani is the dwelling place of Pachatata (Father Earth) and Pachamama (Mother Earth) – the two mountain peaks that is of great importance to Incan and Tiwanaku heritage.

While in the island, we will summon energies to connect with the ancient lineages of Pachatata and Pachamama. We will prepare a sacred offering to heal any tension within your system, and to help balance the masculine and feminine polarities within ourselves to achieve peace and harmony.

The island will be our home for tonight and we’ll experience why fondness are growing over the local “homestay”. Experience the warmth of the people over and over again. We will meet in a terrace overlooking the sacred lake in a sacred fire ceremony into the night. During this time, we will be enchanted and entertained by the tales of the lake and the origins of the Inca culture.

Important note: There will be a 2-kilometer hike to reach our homestay dwellings.

Overnight on Amantaní in a “homestay” with a local family.

A portal into other dimensions is believed to be perched in Aramau Muru’s Doorway. There is no way we will miss the ceremony that honors personal growth, our transformation, rebirth and ourselves.

In the afternoon, we will make our way to the temple of Inca Uyo, a sacred site that is said to be the “dwelling or place of the Inca" and sanctuary of ancient fertility. This walled enclosure is jam-packed with phallic-molded stone carvings, some of which point up at the sky toward Inti, the Inca Sun God. Other lie on the ground towards Pachamama. Tour Leader

Puma Quispe Singona - Speaking to thousands of people globally and inspiring them in his special heartfelt way, Puma Quispe Singona is described as “magical, compassionate and wise beyond his years” with a deep reverence for Pachamama (Earth Mother) and an ancient understanding of the Cosmos. Puma’s gift lies in the ability to open people’s hearts firstly to themselves, then to their family and ultimately to their global community. Trained by his Grandfather since the age of 6, Puma has been walking the path of a traditional Andean Medicine Man and is recognized as a holder of ancient wisdom.

I am still pinching myself to make sure we really did some of what we did. Standing on top of Amantani Island was awesome – body was light & agile, mind was clear, view was amazing – really was on top of the world. The journey was well-structured & well organized with highest elevations experienced last so the body was well acclimatized by then. The small group was more personal, more like family. The pre-tour communication with Sacred Earth Journeys was excellent.

Paul Humphries, Cleve, Australia (Peru – Heart of the Pachamama – Sep/13)

This is definitely a trip worth taking! I can't begin to say how much the trip changed me. I am so much happier than I ever was before. Nothing seems to be able to get me down anymore. I'm very detached even as I go through what would normally have been very difficult and exasperating times. I can't thank you enough for this opportunity. I would not hesitate to recommend Sacred Earth Journeys and their guides Puma and Percy, our Andean Medicine Men, to anyone.

Elizabeth Grubb, Bath, PA (Peru - Heart of the Pachamama - Sep/13)

Places visited were spiritually inspiring, powerful, and visually appealing. Puma's ceremonies and teachings provide much insight into the sacred nature of Peru.

Ron Gomes, Victoria, B.C. (Peru - Heart of the Pachamama - Sep/13)
