Experience 10 days of transformational Hatha Yoga and meditation with experienced yoga instructor Michele Labelle, staying in three different and magical Balinese yoga resorts. Surrounded by the island's spectacular backdrop, this transformative yoga holiday will bring presence, peace and flexibility to your mind, body and spirit.

You'll be practicing morning yoga classes with Michele, taking part in sacred ceremonies, meditations and visualizations that will connect you with the year of the horse. As a horse moves with confidence and strength, so will you, releasing what no longer serves you any use and replenishing your body and mind.

Following a healthy breakfast, the days will unfold with guided excursions and independent activities around beautiful Bali. Your tour of the island will take you to pristine beaches, picturesque rice fields, intricately designed temples, as well as introduce you to Ubud, the hub of art and culture. You'll also visit the revitalizing Les Waterfall and the vibrant coral reefs of Menjangan Island.

This is a unique yoga holiday, where you'll explore and understand the high degree of spiritual devotion of the Balinese culture as you share your yoga and spiritual work, in this sacred place.

The daily routine dictates that we start our everyday with morning yoga and meditation. These relaxing sessions are engineered to bring presence, peace and flexibility to the mind, body and soul. Thereafter, we will be treated to sumptuous and hearty breakfast. The morning practice will strengthen and nourish our body and prepare us for the exciting excursions and activities ahead.

Day 1: Monday - November 3

Arrive in Bali

Upon arrival at Denpasar (Ngurah Rai) International Airport, our guide will meet us and lead us to our hotel. It will be a 30-minute drive, but you won’t notice because along the way, you will be welcomed by stunning views of the countryside.

Upon arrival at the hotel, you will readily be treated to majestic views of the beautiful Balangan Beach. Later in the afternoon, together with our fellow travellers, will be met by our retreat leader, Michele Labelle. We will then be briefed on excursions, proper setting of expectations and goal alignment. We will be reminded that our main purpose is to allow awakening of the spirits and let the energies of Bali heal our infinite spiritual issues.

During sunset, we will join Michele for a Gentle Hatha Yoga Class. What a wonderful way to jumpstart yoga practice! We will cap day one with a relaxing massage overlooking the ocean and a sumptuous meal in the courtyard. Overnight in Balangan Beach at La Joya Resort or similar.

Day 2: Tuesday - November 4

Uluwatu & Padang-Padang Beach, Ubud (B, D)

We will enjoy morning yoga by the beach with Michele. We will then be served a delicious breakfast. We’ll free time to appreciate the serenity that embraces our surroundings before we leave for Uluwatu – one of the most sanctified temples in town.

Tucked atop of a steep cliff with picturesque backdrops, Uluwatu presents itself as a jewel of the town. We will continue with our journey and visit the charming Padang-Padang Beach and then drive towards Ubud. A resort within close proximity to Monkey Forest Road will be our home for the next three days.

A Welcome Dinner is prepared for us at Café Wayan. Located along the Monkey Forest Road, it carries traditional Balinese style and intricate details – green bamboos and foliage.

After dinner, we will return to the Cendana poolside to dig deep into what lies ahead of our tour. This session will share with us a powerful mantra that will strengthen our ways and means as we move forward to our expeditions in the next few days in Bali. We are encouraged to bring a journal and a pen to document our experiences.

Overnight in Ubud at Cendana Resort & Spa or similar.

Day 3: Wednesday - November 5

Ubud (B, L)

We will again enjoy morning yoga class with Michele before breakfast. Afterwards, we will prepare for a bike ride that will take us to the rice paddy fields of Ubud. We will have our lunch here.

The fields lay a magical setting for us to connect ourselves with the inspiring country and free our minds with woes. This way, we will be able to revisit our passions in life with clarity and creativity.

After the biking, we will enjoy leisure time and explore the town of Ubud. We will take a stroll to the market, immerse ourselves with local and witness how they create maginificent arts and crafts on display. We can also shop for souvenirs while in here.

If your body craves for the finest relaxation pleasure, we can have a massage or a flower bath in one of the many spas peppered in our hotel. One-on-one healings are also available with Michele during this down time, which may bring you a sense of clarity and relief on past issues and that will leave you empowered and centered like never before. Our evening will be filled with entertainment and delightful encounters with the artistic side of the people. The Jegog Musical Performance will be the highlight of the night. It is an indigenous form of gamelan music played on instruments made of bamboo.

Overnight in Ubud at Cendana Resort & Spa or similar.

Day 4: Thursday - November 6

Ubud (B, L)

Another early morning yoga class will energize our mind and body before we set out for today’s adventures. This will be followed by a healthy breakfast.

We will depart from the resort to the local village of Pacut to experience local lifestyle firsthand. Upon arrival, we will meet the retreat co-leader that lives here, Artayasa. He is also the village master that orchestrates cultural events and tourist visits in here.

Our first stopover is at the village elementary school. We will take time to do charitable deeds and donate some supplies for the students. Afterwards, we will weave coconut leaves and create wonderful hats and offerings for the temple. We will then explore the village and experience traditional farming in the rice fields. This is far from the glitz and glamor of the city, but something that would remind you of what simple living is about.

After lunch, we will gather with the local musicians who will teach us how to play gamelan Angklung and other traditional Balinese instruments. This profound cultural and spiritual experience will without a doubt be the highlight of our entire journey in Bali.

We’ll have the remainder of the day to continue touring Ubud and do some shopping.

Overnight in Ubud at Cendana Resort & Spa or similar.

Day 5: Friday - November 7

Ubud, Les Waterfall, Pemuteran Beach (B)

An early morning yoga class with Michele will be succeeded by a delicious breakfast. These will be enough to keep us on our feet and feeling invigorated all throughout the day. Today, we will visit the scenic rice fields found on the outskirts of Ubud.

Day five will be about embracing the gifts of nature. We will travel through the mountains and take snaps of the stalwart volcanoes of Bali. We will have our lunch on the way. Make sure that you pack enough swimsuits, towel and walking shoes, because today will be one heck of thrilling escapades.

We will first traverse the abundant forests of rambutans and set foot on the 30 meter high Les Waterfall. Be ready to be mesmerized! Enjoy a natural massage as you stand under the waterfall and enjoy the relaxing sensation. We will also relish on a spiritual bath in the magical pools. On the way down, we can enjoy a fresh coconut water to quench our thirst.

We will move on and settle in another resort where we will spend another three majestic nights. From the resort, it will take us only 15 minutes to reach the famous Bali Barat National Park and the diving site of Menjangan Island. Pemuteran Beach is just within reach. The awe-inspiring mountain views and the scenic beach make the resort the ideal location to continue our blissful spiritual makeover.

Overnight on Pemuteran Beach at Taman Sari Bali Resort & Spa.

Day 6: Saturday - November 8

Pemuteran Beach, Buddhist Monastery (B)

Our number one target destination today is the Brahma Vihara Arama Buddhist Monastery. After breakfast, we will move forward to visit this sacred place. The entire morning will be spent building up our spiritual strongholds and amass inspiration. We will be back in the afternoon for more leisure.

We can venture into an afternoon filled with rejuvenating treats at the hotel spa. We can also find time to visit the Bali Barat National Park or the Green Sea Turtle Project. The former is home to flora, fauna and wildlife thriving in a coastal savannah terrain with bursting in yellow and green shades. There is a good chance that we’ll be able to see rare species of birds such as White-Bellied Sea Eagle or Black-Shouldered Kite flying freely around the park.

If we opt to spend the rest of the afternoon at the resort, we can relax at the beachfront or poolside, relive the beautiful things we have experienced so far. A traditional massage or facial treatments are also available if we choose to pamper ourselves in a soothing indoor setting.

If you think that the day will end without yoga practice, cheer up. The morning session is replaced with a sunset yoga class with Michele. At this point, we will concentrate on finding the equilibrium between the five elements: earth, fire, wood, water and metal. This will provide us with deeper understanding of the Taoist’s Yin-Yang philosophy. These elements represent an aspect of dynamic processes of change. We will gather in circle and interact with one another, sharing awareness and changes in life and how to find the harmony in transition.

Overnight on Pemuteran Beach at Taman Sari Bali Resort & Spa.

Day 7: Sunday - November 9

Pemuteran Beach, Excursion to Menjangan Island (B, L)

We missed it yesterday. We’ll resume with our usual morning yoga class with Michele on the beach. The wonderful seas and marine affluence will be our best friends for today. Ensure that we packed enough for our snorkeling excursion to Menjangan Island.

The gleaming white sand will greet us as we enter the stunning coral gardens, which are the dwelling places of Bali’s most vibrant and richest coral reef. We’ll ride a boat and enjoy a 30-minute sightseeing adventure in a protected island. Lip-smacking picnic lunch will be served.

Overnight on Pemuteran Beach at Taman Sari Bali Resort & Spa.

Day 8: Monday - November 10

Ulun Danu Temple, Ubud (B)

Our final morning at the Pemuteran Beach should be well spent. After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll have our chance to take photos of the magnificent mountain and ocean views.

On our way back to Ubud, we will pay a visit to the Ulun Danu Temple. An important Hindu and Buddhist water temple, this worship center is tucked 800 meters above sea level and prides architecturally impressive details. The green hills, majestic scenery and clean fresh air – a short and memorable stop, indeed.

In the afternoon, we will be given time to shop at the outdoor Fruit and Flower Market. Allow yourself to get lost into this fair and enjoy yourself with warm folks in here. Exotic fruits, flowers and spices are some of the items you can snatch here for reasonable prices. We can spend the evening for leisure.

Overnight in Ubud at Rama Phala Resort or similar.

Day 9: Tuesday - November 11

Ubud (B, D)

The last and final morning yoga class will take place today. At this point, the obvious space and peace within our minds and bodies will be realized. As we breathe further into the lungs, our hearts will salute the sun more openly and our spirits are more than ready for the new challenges that life will bring.

Private sessions with Michele will be available today. We can also push through with more shopping extravagance and indulge in some last minute shopping on Hanuman Street, Monkey Forest road. We can also kiss the day away with another luxurious massage at the spa.

In the evening, a delightful Farewell Dinner will be served in Indus Restaurant. The mouth-watering menu, the eclectic gallery and breathtaking views of the Tjampuhan River will make you not want to leave this place. We will be treated with the finest cuisines and impeccable customer service and find out why Indus has gained solid following over the years.

Overnight in Ubud at Rama Phala Resort or similar.

Day 10: Wednesday - November 12

By this time, parting may be difficult, as we have come to love the life that Bali has to offer. Following our last breakfast, we will gather with Michele and co-travellers to listen to each other’s stories. We get to share our memorable experiences and transformations we will cherish perpetually.

About Our Resorts

Cendana Resort & Spa was opened in 1992. Built in a traditional Balinese architectural style, with balconies overlooking beautiful rice fields, it has lush gardens set with various plants and flowers. Cendana is the Indonesian name for "Sandalwood", which in Bali is used for high quality carvings, ceremonial offerings (Banten), and traditional treatments. The resort is quiet, peaceful and perfectly situated for us to enjoy all that Ubud has to offer.

Our fabulous resort is set in the unspoiled northwest of Bali, an area with nature and marine parks, coconut groves and beautiful ancient temples dotting the landscape. The Taman Sari Resort & Spa blends wonderfully with its natural surroundings. Luxurious cottages and suites were built using natural indigenous materials in a relaxed setting surrounded by tranquil gardens and ponds. An ideal location for diving, snorkelling and an easy exploring distance from the flora and fauna of the Bali Barat National Park.

Rama Phala Resort & Spa is ideally located in the heart of the unique cultural and artistic Balinese village of Ubud, and 5 minutes walk to the Ubud sacred Monkey Forest. Its stunning architecture respects tradition while offering every modern amenity. Its swimming pool, spa facilities, beautiful tranquil gardens and friendly atmosphere will provide the perfect environment for your body, mind and spirit to relax and rejuvenate.

Bali Bliss was the experience of a lifetime! The magical energy of the country and the graciousness of the Balinese people can teach us all how to live in harmony and peace. There were so many wonderful places visited, it is hard to pinpoint one single highlight. Temple visits and blessings, snorkelling, yoga and just spending time with like-minded people will never be forgotten.

Tracey Baker, Vancouver, B.C. (Bali Bliss Retreat - Nov/13)

I often find myself drifting away and before I even realize it, I AM back in Bali. The land where magic happens. I left there with my heart so full of love and joy that it is still permeating through my body. I think of the time we were snorkeling and the sunlight was illuminating through me, in me, around me. Ahhh, I AM still in a peaceful place and loving my new friends, myself and ALL that is... Michele, our instructor/guide, was wonderful and so full of life, love and joy!! Helen, I am already looking forward to my next journey. I am so pleased with the way you organize these trips and your attention to detail. We really did have such a wonderful time. Bali let the inner child out!

Martha Robles, Nanuet, NY (Bali Bliss Retreat - Nov/13)

I very deeply enjoyed the retreat in Bali, loved the people I met and all the laughter we shared. Each person was a jewel in the crown of such great memories. Bali is soft and sweet, the people so kind and friendly, the land is gentle and I look forward to returning. Going to our guides village was off the scale such a great event. We had such a joyous time, feasting, playing music with the band and dancing. The whole village was laughing with us, what a great bonding experience in Bali. Our local guide was the best, very knowledgeable, patient and kind. Michele was a pleasure to journey with and the yoga and meditations were gentle and sweet. I would recommend this retreat to the sweet Mother land of Bali ~ a joy to the soul!

Annie Lindquist, Vancouver, B.C. (Bali Bliss Retreat - Nov/13)

Thanks Helen and Michele for organizing the tour of a lifetime. The experience was unforgettable and I was able to push personal boundaries and experience situations and things that I would never have dreamed of doing. Unfortunately words can not express how fantastic a trip this was.

Madelane van Zyl, Vancouver, B.C. (Bali Bliss Retreat - Nov/13)

The trip was amazing!! Beautiful Bali with its warm tropical climate, the very friendly local people, every hotel we stayed at was so picturesque... like an oasis of its own. The yoga, the temples, the waterfall, swimming in the ocean, bike riding through rice fields, snorkelling – it was all like a dream come true. And of course all the truly inspirational women that were part of our group are such special people – I’ve met many new friends. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the whole experience. I am so happy I was there and a part of it all.

Adrian Doherty, Vancouver, B.C. (Bali Bliss Retreat - Nov/13)

As I write this I have chills running up and down my spine. It was another excellent trip. My last day there I was feeling regrets that I had to leave such a wonderful place. It did indeed take my heart just like the Sacred Earth Journeys Peru trip we went on in 2009. But this was also so different that I just can't explain. I was so overwhelmed with joy the whole trip! Thank you Helen and Michele for the wonderful memories that will always reside in my heart.
