When you think of romantic destinations, places like Paris, Venice and Rome come to mind. However, these are really obvious places to go and if you are looking for something a bit more unique then head to Asia… There are so many romantic spots in Asia that will mesmerise you and leave lasting memories. Enjoy some romantic moments with your partner on stunning beaches and take in the picturesque scenery. Here are some of the most romantic locations in Asia put together especially for you…

Ha Long Bay, Vietnam

Ha Long Bay is a UNESCO world heritage site. It’s about a 2.5 hour journey from the capital city of Hanoi. Here you will find a huge bay with thousands of Limestone islets and caves.

You can float around on your ‘Junk’ (a big wooden boat) for 2 days, including a tranquil overnight stay. Some of the hotels scatter rose petals in your room to add to the romantic experience.

Spend some time sunbathing on the top deck of the boat or kayak around the bay with your partner. The restaurants serve very fresh and tasty seafood here.

The main highlight of Ha Long Bay is kayaking around the beautiful bay on a hot sunny day or enjoying a cold drink whilst watching the spectacular sunset.

Ella, Sri Lanka

Ella is a small village located high in the mountains, surrounded by lush scenery through the Ella Gap (valley). Couples can enjoy lovely walks and climbs in a totally undeveloped area of Sri Lanka. Two enjoyable climbs that aren’t too challenging are Little Adam’s Peak and Ella’s Rock.

Ella is surrounded by tea plantations, waterfalls and temples. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a romantic getaway. Make sure you wake up at 5.30am to watch the sun rise over the Ella Gap from your hotel balcony.

Taj Mahal (Agra, India)

If you and your partner love a bit of culture and history then book a trip to the Taj Mahal in India. Experience one of the seven wonders of the world with your partner and admire the impressive architecture. The Taj Mahal is especially impressive at sunrise or early evening. The Taj Mahal was built because of love, Mughal emperor Shah Jahan built it in memory of his third wife. Lots of couples choose to visit the Taj Mahal on a cultural and romantic break to India.

Sentosa, Singapore

If you are planning on visiting Singapore then make sure you spend some time on Sentosa Island. Sentosa actually means ‘peace and tranquility’ which is ideal for a romantic break with a loved one.

The island has some excellent hotels, soft sandy beaches and a wide range of activities on offer. If you want a more active holiday then spend some time playing golf or have a go at waveriding. There is also a spa which is tailored to couples and some lovely restaurants.

Hong Kong

Although Hong Kong doesn’t sound that romantic, it is a very vibrant and charming city that will lift your spirits. Some couples prefer to go on city breaks and enjoy good nightlife, fine restaurants and a lively atmosphere. The skyscrapers in Hong Kong are very impressive and the city’s skyline is stunning. Head up to one of the rooftop pools to enjoy breathtaking views of the city.

Krabi, Thailand

If it’s white sandy beaches and clear blue sea you are looking for, then book a romantic holiday to Krabi in Thailand.

You can sit back, relax and watch the world go by on the beautiful beaches. If you fancy doing some watersports with your partner then there are plenty on offer including scuba diving and snorkelling.
