The Lake Las Vegas in Henderson is 320-acre property 17 miles from the Las Vegas Strip. It is a freshwater lake circled by a stunning Mediterranean-inspired village. Those who want to escape the glitz and glamour of the Strip can have a short detour to Lake Las Vegas.
It is just a fingertip away from the entertainment city where you can easily relax and enjoy the peacefulness of its lush green surroundings. Lake Las Vegas also offers its guests state-of-the-art facilities like luxury spas, golf courses, and all-out-fun water activities.

For a complete entertainment package with food, music, shopping, and city activities, never miss visiting The District at Green Valley Ranch. The place offers you an exceptional shopping and dining activity in an outdoor setting. It is located at I-215 Green Valley Parkway, with retail shops and food houses spanning from east to west of the parkway.
The District at Green Valley Ranch is not only a shopping center but a perfect venue to relax and connect with nature. Its outdoor shopping setting is surrounded by palm-tree-lined courtyards, fountains, park benches, or lounge areas. Here you can chill and hang out after a day of shopping or strolling around.
Since it is full of retail shops and eateries, you have to narrow down your wide range of selections. I suggest you stop by the PF Chang’s restaurant and enjoy a delicious rice bowl and taste unique Asian flavors and styles of cooking. Try the King’s Fish House offering the freshest seafood menu in Henderson.
3. Bonkerz Comedy Club
If you want to experience a night of laughing and dancing, you should head straight to the Bonkerz Comedy Club. It is a 15,000 sq ft entertainment venue offering hilarious comedy shows and comedy acts. The Bonkerz is part of the comedy club chain founded by Joe Sanfelippo and George Maltezos.
The Bonkerz Comedy Club has been in the industry for almost 30 years. It is home to famous comedic veterans and a fresh talent training ground.
Secure your tickets early as most of its comedy shows and live performances have always been sold out.

4. Green Valley Range
You can also spend a day or a few hours at the Green Valley Range for something more thrilling and fun. It is a friendly indoor shooting range established in 2013. The area has its gunsmith and gun store and offers firearms workshops or one-on-one instructions.
The shooting range is open for beginners with expert instructors who can teach you to hold firearms. You will also have a few lessons on loading simple ammunitions effectively. It is one of my suggested spots in Henderson if you want something unique and new to experience.
The Green Valley Range is an excellent shooting venue if you want to be a responsible gun holder. Here you can learn safety firearms and procedures. The rates are also affordable, and they provide discounts on special occasions.
5. Emerald Island Casino
At the center of the city of Henderson is the Emerald Island Casino. It is a few hours away from the Vegas Strip, where you can enjoy a simple and non-extravagant entertainment activity. The casino is more laid-back without the over-the-top glitz and glamor, similar to the Las Vegas casinos.
The Emerald Island Casino is more welcoming, where you can still experience carnival-like entertainment. It has a full-service staff that assists you while you are in the vicinity. Here you can also appreciate superior guest service.
Aside from amusement and entertainment, the casino provides an exceptional food experience. It has an in-house restaurant delivering fresh food and delicious meal. You can try its daily specials or have a bite of its well-crafted BBQ smoker recipe. The Emerald Island Casino is a complete package if you look for premium food and entertainment service.
6. River Mountain Loop Trail
For the ultimate outdoor experience, River Mountain Loop Trail should be number one on your list. It is a 34-mile trail that connects the city of Henderson, Boulder, Hoover Dam, and some areas of Las Vegas Valley. The track is the favorite destination of cyclists, hikers, and even horseback riders.
The River Mountain Loop Trail is an initiative and effort of Henderson’s local regional and federal agencies. It aims to provide tourists and locals a place of respite where they can connect with the beauty of nature. The area has three trailheads, including Silverman Connector Access Point, Mountain Lake Park Trailhead, and Equestrian Park Trailhead.
Prepare sunblock, wear your hiking gear, and head straight to River Mountain Loop Trail. Invite your friends and bring your bicycles while traversing Henderson’s challenging trailheads. Marvel’s scenic view and maximize the natural beauty of this laid-back city in Nevada.
7. Las Vegas Distillery
Good stories, good whiskey, and good times are the top things the Las Vegas Distillery can offer. It is the very first distillery in Nevada which started in 1993. The distillery is also the sole craft spirits manufacturer in Las Vegas Valley.
Las Vegas Distillery is located at the Eastgate Road in the city of Henderson. It is a family-run business showcasing two pot stills to create spirits. The industry produces various shades, including gin, bourbon, moonshine, vodka, and rum.
Tours and tastings are open every week. You can enjoy a 50-minute tour and taste some of its well-curated craft spirits. The place is also available for gatherings and special events on a reservation. You can hire caterers to conduct your parties or corporate events.
8. Sunset Station Casino
The most fabulous building in the city of Henderson is the Sunset Station Casino. It is an opulent palace offering Vegas Strip-like entertainment without even leaving Henderson. It is one of my city favorites where you can enjoy a relaxing and wonderful stay.
It offers a sophisticated casino floor and world-class entertainment service. There are fancy restaurants and eateries to try while having your game of a lifetime. The nightly entertainment it offers is similar to the loud and high-class services in Las Vegas.
Enjoy your relaxing stay at these luxury suites, and check out its wide range of restaurant selections. The Oyster Bar is where you can watch live music and witness incredible live performances on the Sunset Station Stage. Do not miss the Pusta Cucina for delectable Spanish food choices.
9. Cowabunga Bay Water Park
Appreciate Henderson’s great weather all year round, and visit the Cowabunga Bay Water Park any time of the year. It is a large waterpark displaying unique water attractions such as the Beach Blanket Banzai, Wild Surf, and Breaker 1-9. The waterpark also offers extreme rides like Zuma Zooma and Rock-A-Hoola.
Cowabunga Bay Water Park also holds regular activities like Summer Events with non-stop entertainment every season. There are live music and great performances, too. You can also attend the Country in the Cove, the last season concert festival in the city.
Soak in the sun, have fun, and enjoy the waters of Cowabunga. Elevate your experience by trying out all its rides and water adventures. Keep your heart racing by riding on a Surf-A-Go-Go, an impressive water slide, and surfing activity.
10. Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve
Henderson will never run out of engaging outdoor activities for everyone. The Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve is another opportunity to marvel at the city’s natural beauty. You will have the chance to have a close-up experience with the local birdlife.
Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve has become a venue for migratory birds of different species. It offers a haven for these creatures and, at the same time, immersive activity for bird and animal lovers. When you visit the preserve, you will be greeted by its nine ponds, where birds love to hang out and stay during migration season.
There are several trails to traverse where you can have a great view of these migratory birds. The path is not that difficult and has room for those in wheelchairs. Once you are at the viewing area, bring out your binoculars, and catch the stunning view of different species of birds.
11. Artisan Booze District
If you can’t get enough of Henderson’s famous craft beers, you should visit the Artisan Booze District. It is the ultimate place every beer lover would appreciate. The district has everything to offer, from distillery, wineries, and craft beer.
The Artisan Booze District is home to many breweries, wine schools, and top distilleries in Henderson. Here you can enjoy endless tasting rooms offering distinct flavors of beers. The place provides locals and tourists a sip-and-stroll experience in Nevada.
Some of my personal favorites in the district are the Grape Expectations, Vegas Valley Winery, and Bad Beat Brewing. They offer every beer enthusiast a learning experience about the art of beer crafting. Short and masterclasses are also being provided to interested students.
12. Water Street District
For those looking for an all-inclusive Henderson experience, the Water Street District is something you should not miss out on. There are loads of cool stuff to do in the area, including eating, dining, and skating. There is a stretch of retail stores, restaurants, and entertainment centers.
The Water District is a great place to explore because of a wide range of local businesses offering diverse city experiences. It is home to novelty shops such as jewelry stores, mini-casinos, and brewing venues. You will never go hungry here as tons of themed cafes and restaurants are available.
Visit the Public Works Coffee Bar and have a strong shot of espresso. If you want a woodfired try pizza and European dishes, include Fratelli’s Pizza Kitchen and Water Street Pizzeria on your list. Head to Gold Mine Tavern and Rainbow Club Casino for entertainment, too.
Henderson is never a boring city. It may not be as loud and overrated as Las Vegas, but it is still a must-see metro in Nevada. You can do tons of activities, from waterparks, casinos, and craft breweries.
